oseph Budka has been designing and building beautiful, strange and unique objects for over 17 years. He believes that a well rounded designer should be able to build his visions, as well as imagine them. To that end, Budka has dedicated himself to the mastery of many skills. He is primarily a classically trained woodworker, designer, and sculptor. He is also a trained welder, blacksmith, draftsman, engineer, mechanic, electrician, painter, inventor and an endless tinkerer.

In 2005, Budka received his BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Shortly thereafter, he founded the professional art, design and fabrication firm, Pagoda Studios, Inc. Since then, he has spent his days designing and building custom furniture, developing new products for market, restoring art and antiques, developing his studio art practice, and more. His art background informs his designer’s eye, adding a need for balance, dynamics, and beauty to his designs. Over the years he has created countless original works.

Budka’s highest values are respect, quality, patience, and a constant investment in personal development and improvement. This philosophy he applies to his business practices as well as his personal life. He believes that high quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service are the cornerstones of his business, and holds them as priorities above all else. He continues to develop his varied interests and pursuits with tireless energy, and an endless curiosity about everything.
